His Excellency Sheikh Abdulla Bin Saoud Al-Thani started his career at Qatar Central Bank in 1981 and served as deputy governor from 1990 to 2001. After five years as chairman at the State Audit Bureau, he returned to Qatar Central Bank as governor in 2006. He serves as chairman of the governors of GCC Monetary Agencies and Central Banks Committee.
His Excellency serves on several boards in the area of financial regulation. He was appointed chairman of the board of directors for QFC Regulatory Authority, chairman of Qatar Financial Markets Authority, and chairman of Qatar’s Financial Stability and Risk Control Committee. He is also chair of the board of directors for the Gulf Monetary Council.
