Jarrett J. Krosoczka
American author and illustrator
Jarrett J. Krosoczka (krə-ZOSS-kə) (born December 22, 1977, in Worcester, Massachusetts) is the author and illustrator of several graphic novels and picture books, most famously his Lunch Lady series.
Life
[edit]Krosoczka was raised entirely by his maternal grandparents, Joseph and Shirley Krosoczka, who took legal custody of him when he was three because of his mother's drug addiction. He saw his mother only sporadically throughout his childhood, and didn't learn the truth about her addiction until he was in the fourth grade. The "J" in his professional name is in tribute to his late grandfather. He also established the Joseph and Shirley Krosoczka Memorial Youth Scholarships at the Worcester Art Museum in tribute to his grandparents. The scholarships provide tuition to underprivileged children who are in unique familial situations.[1]

Krosoczka wrote and illustrated Jedi Academy: A New Class, a new installment in the Star Wars: Jedi Academy series, which was released on July 26, 2016.[3] A follow-up, Jedi Academy: The Force Oversleeps, was released on July 25, 2017.[4] A third installment, Jedi Academy: The Principal Strikes Back, was released on July 31, 2018.[5]
Krosoczka wrote a comic titled "Ackbar" that was published as part of the canon anthology book From a Certain Point of View: Return of the Jedi.
