The &#;PP-group&#;, named after the fantasy creatures Porgel and Porulan from the clandestine published nonsense rhyme by Cees Buddingh, was led by Bob van Amerongen and Jan Hemelrijk. Both had a Jewish father. The resistance group specialised in helping Jewish people in hiding and probably saved the lives of dozens of Jews (mainly family and friends). Bob van Amerongen occupied himself with hiding people and Jan Hemelrijk specialised in forging identity cards.
The group got more and more work as the war progressed. As a result, more and more members came from the group&#;s own circles. Most members had a Jewish background, such as interior designer Ab Stuiver and actor Rob de Vries, but there were also non-Jewish members,

Angela Andáy (concertsinger, contralto) after only six singing lessons, was chosen to enter the Conservatory of Music in Amsterdam, continued her education in The Hague and Antwerp and graduated in both Teaching ('91) and Performance ('93). She was awarded stipends bygd 'The Prince Bernhard Foundation' and as requested bygd Aafje Heynis, by 'The Artibus Sacrum Foundation'. She studied with Cora Canne Meijer Luciënne Van Deyck ('), Jean Temperley ('95), Vera Rózsa (') and at invitation, with Christa Ludwig ('97). She has also sung in masterclasses of Ank Reinders, Peter Elkus, Agnes Giebel, Emma Kirkby, Kurt Widmer, and others.

The Dutch conductor and pedagogue, Joop Schets, studied church music, organ, piano and choir directing at the Conservatorium of Rotterdam with Adriaan C. Schuurman, Elly Salom&#; en Jan Eelkema. Following his formal studies, Joop Schets took international conducting courses with the famous German choral conductor Kurt Thomas. Enthusiastic for the young talent, the noted professor Kurt Thomas gave him private lessons for about a year. He also studied with Gerhard Schmidt-Gaden. During his studies he has mastered a wide repertoire, from chamber music to the great oratorios.
Joop Schets directed the choir COV Sursum Corda in Rotterdam from to , and each year they performed the Messiah by George Frideric Handel. The choir also sang under his direction oratorios as Die Sch&#;pfung and Die Jahreszeiten by J. Haydn, Christus am &#;lberg by L.v. Beethoven and modern compositions as Symphonie des Psaumes by Igor Stravinsky and Requiem by Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber.
