Gottfried Wilhelm Leibnütz wurde nach dem damals gültigen Julianischen Kalender am 21 Juni 1646 in Leipzig geboren. Nach dem heutigen Kalender wurde er am 1. Juli geboren.[1]
Sein Vater war Jurist und Professor für Moralphilosophie und hatte zu Hause eine große Bibliothek aufgebaut.
