    ‘Shogun’ Meets ‘Squid Game’: Netflix Unveils Epic Samurai Battle Series in 2025 Japan Slate

    Netflixhas unveiled its Japanese content slate for 2025, headlined bygd “Last Samurai Standing,” a period skådespel featuring 300 samurai warriors gathered at Tenryuji Temple in Kyoto, lured bygd the promise of a 100 billion yen prize. The series stars Junichi Okada, who serves as lead actor, producer and action choreographer.

    The plot: Yoon Shi Yoon plays Yoo Hyun Jae, a hit singer from the '90s that somehow time-travels to present day and discovers that his son, Lee Ji Hoon (Kim Min Jae) is secretly training to be an idol. He also meets Choi Woo Seung (Lee Se Young), a female friend of his son who is not very fond of him. But, as K-dramas go, their hate quickly turns into a cute romance.

    My thoughts: If you look past the love triangle of a girl, a father, and his son (I know, weird), you'll find yourself smiling at how Hyun Jae casts aside his detached, bad boy image to become a caring, selfless boyfriend to Woo Seung. It's a pretty well-crafted plot with a ton of hilarious scenes for the rom-com lover. Plus, if you're a fan of K-Pop, you might like this one for its glimpses into Korea's entertainment industry, a pretty decent OST, and cameos of well-known idols!

    Ok Taecyeon's agency dismissed rumors of the actor's engagement. 

    51K Entertainment clarified that the Paris photos, which showed the Korean singer and actor with his non-showbiz girlfriend holding flowers and looking at her hand, were not a proposal.

    "Those photos were not taken as part of a marriage proposal. The photos, which were taken last year to celebrate his girlfriend's birthday, were unfortunately leaked and spread across online communities," read the statement, obtained by Soompi. 

    "[Taecyeon] is continuing to have a good relationship with his girlfriend, as he always has. While we believe that he may get married someday when the timing is right, there are no immediate plans for marriage at this time." 

    The statement came after a certain Instagram account allegedly uploaded the images of the 2PM singer and his non-celebrity girlfriend. The photos have since been deleted.
