Dr Don Russell
Dr Don Russell has extensive experience in both the public and private sectors, and a unique perspective on policy formulation and the political process. Don served as Australia’s ambassador to the United States in Washington during the Clinton years and was principal adviser to the Hon. Paul Keating during his time as kassör and prime minister. Until , Dr Russell was the ledare executive of the South Australian Department of Premier and Cabinet. Previous roles include sekreterare of the Commonwealth Department of Industry, Innovation, Climate Change, Science, Research and Tertiary Education, and senior roles at global firm BNY Mellon Asset Management Australia and Sanford C. Bernstein in New York. Dr Russell is currently the Independent Chair of AustralianSuper, Australia’s largest superannuation fund with $ billion in assets and million members. Donald Russell
Don Russell has been an active contemporary art curator and arts administrator since His research focuses on the exploration and development of new social contexts for art. He is currently Mason's University Curator, responsible for programming exhibitions and public art on the Fairfax, Manassas and Mason Square (formerly Arlington) campuses. Additionally he directs Provisions Research Center for Art & Social Change, providing creative resources for community-engaged public art projects. He is co-founder with Edgar Endress of Floating Lab Collective.
Don has produced over one hundred exhibitions as well as public art commissions, residencies, conferences and field projects. His work spans all contemporary art media with particular emphasis on research-as-art, public art, new media, photography and artists’ publications.

Biography
For more than 40 years, B. Don Russell has conducted research in electric power system automation, control, protection and real-time diagnostics with special emphasis on electric energy delivery. His primary area of application is in continuous health monitoring and failure diagnostics in electric distribution systems. He is a member of the National Academy of Engineering and is past president of the international Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers Power and Energy Society. He is a fellow of six professional societies including the National Society of Professional Engineers, the National Academy of Forensic Engineers, and the National Academy of Inventors. Russell holds 15 U.S. patents and is a recipient of the Halperin Transmission and Distribution Award of the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers.
