    Salem - Diana Staples, 55, beloved wife of Geoffrey Staples, passed away comfortably at home, with her husband and daughter by her side, following a courageous battle with COPD, on December 31, 2020.
    Born in Salem, Mass., on June 13, 1965, Diana was the youngest child of Roberta and Roger Whear. She was raised in Marblehead where she spent her childhood, made lifelong friends, and met her high school sweetheart and love of her life, Geoffrey. Together they built a life and family with three beautiful children.

    Diana had a green thumb and loved gardening. Although it was "work," it was her Oasis, especially at the House of Seven Gables. Additionally, Diana had a special place in her heart for the special needs population. She worked at Salem High School as a paraprofessional in the Special Education Department and volunteered extra time at the Northeast Arc and Best Buddies events.     DIANE BONITA STAPLES Diane Bonita Staples, born Thursday, August 25, 1955 unexpectedly departed life and moved to her heavenly home Thursday, February, 11, 2010. Accepting Christ as the head of her life early in her journey, she was baptized at Van Buren Baptist Church and during her high school years she served as organist/pianist. As an avid attendee of First Baptist Church in Atlanta, Georgia Diane continued to mature in the Lord under the guidance of Dr. Charles F. Stanley, Sr. Pastor. She was an honor graduate of Roosevelt High School Class of 1973 and in 1977 graduated Magna Cum Laude from Dillard University, New Orleans, Louisiana. Living up to the title Outstanding ung Women of America to which she was awarded in 1988, Diane and her children relocated to Dunwoody, Georgia following the resolution of her marriage.
