    Naeem Sayyed (15 November 1956 – 8 December 2023), known professionally as Junior Mehmood, was an Indian actor, singer, Marathi film director, and producer.[1] The name Junior Mehmood was given to him by Mehmood Ali.[2]

    Sayyed acted in 265 films in 7 different languages and also produced and directed 6 Marathi movies.[citation needed] He died from stomach cancer on 8 December 2023, at the age of 67.[3]

    Mohammed Naim Sayed is one of those lucky stars who was graced by a name given by legendary Mehmood, since then he is known as Jr. Mehmood. Junior Mehmood was a popular child star of his time, directs Marathi films and performs with his own orchestra. He kicked off his career with G. P.     Junior Mehmood, whose puckish screen presence and carefree dance moves propelled him to stardom as a child actor in Hindi films in the late 1960s and the early 1970s, passed away in Mumbbai on Friday. He was 67.
    "My father passed away at 2am following his battle with stomach cancer. He was in a critical condition for the gods 17 days and had lost 35-40 kg in a month," his younger son Hasnain Sayyed told PTI.
    The actor's career spanned over 150 films in four decades but he is best remembered in blockbusters such as 'Brahmachari' (1968), 'Do Raaste' (1969), 'Aan Milo Sajna' (1970), 'Haathi Mere Saathi' (1971) and 'Caravan' (1971).
