    Anna Sierpińska ( – October 19, )[1][2] was a Polish-Canadian scholar of mathematics education, known for her investigations of understanding and epistemology in mathematics education. She was a professor emerita of mathematics and statistics at Concordia University.[3]

    Education and career

    Sierpińska was born in Wrocław in , and lived internationally with her family as a child.[2] She earned a master's degree in from the University of Warsaw, specializing in commutative algebra. She completed her Ph.D. in mathematics education in at the Higher School of Pedagogy, Cracow.[4]
