    Many of the questions I see posed in the book community focus on genre. Everyone wants to know what kind of books you read because genre, at the most basic level, indicates compatibility of taste. If I read primarily literary fiction and you read primarily nonfiction your eyes may gloss over the moment I begin handing out recommendations. My tastes in books is far from singular — I like a bit of everything, but the genre I read the least is thrillers. Consider this your definitive guide (or warning) to the types of books I’ve loved in recent years, which should indicate the types of books that I’ll feature going forward.
