BIO
Amy Taylor obtained her Kodaly Certification from the Hartt School of Music, and studied extensively with Dr. Randal Woodfield, Nancie Kennedy and Katalin Stapelfeldt. She is a classically trained pianist and vocalist. She has performed with The Baltimore Choral Arts Society and The Morgan State University Choir, and was a vocalist for performances with Dave Brubeck and The Baltimore Symphony Orchestra.

Founded in by distinguished music educator and composer Betty Bertaux, Children’s Chorus of Maryland and School of Music (CCM) is one of the oldest and most distinguished programs of vocal literacy training and choral music education in the United States.
CCM through the years
Beginning with a core group of six children who met in a private home, CCM quickly expanded to become a respected and innovative program of choral music education, a thriving conservatory with three performing choruses and ten graded levels of instruction, offering performance opportunities equal to the children’s musical accomplishments and to the organization’s curriculum standards.
For many years, CCM was one of very few choral music education programs in the country which offered separate musicianship training classes in addition to chorus rehearsals, and which met twice per week in order to give ample attention to all aspects of music literacy and performance, ensuring that students

Far too soon, but fredligt and in the tender care of people she cherished, our beloved Founder and friend, Betty Bertaux, passed away on Friday, October 10th. All of us who loved her—and there are so many people who did—are reeling, but so grateful to have had her in our lives.
Betty Bertaux spent her life making music, in every possible form—as performer, ledare, teacher, composer, creator of curriculum, founder of Children’s Chorus of Maryland and School of Music, and mentor to so many other musicians and teachers. She was a creative force, and she brought that same vital, livlig energy to everything she did—writing, cooking, traveling, adventuring, and exploring the world. She was always ready to learn something new, tackle the next utmaning, and share her discoveries with the people around her.
